🎈 A Letter to My Cheerleaders

My mind—like yours—naturally focuses on the negative. I’m guilty of giving too much energy to the criticisms and flaws. So I wrote this as an act of focusing on the positive—the positive impact I’ve had on the world.

I reviewed the most powerful appreciative messages I’ve ever received. I’m sharing them with you to inspire to cheer others on and believe in people, like so many of you have done for me.

There’s no doubt in my mind. If it weren’t for you, I would still be working in a laboratory.

You’ve been a part of this journey… A journey of figuring myself out, failing forward, and rebranding dozens of times.

In 2017, I led my first sober party with a SOUNDBOKS.
In 2018, I performed at my first festival.
In 2019, I embarked on my first party science expedition.
In 2020, I led my first experience on a festival mainstage.
In 2021, I facilitated my first virtual party for a client.
In 2022, I underwent my first rebirth during my darkness retreat.
In 2023, I spoke at my first international conference.
In 2024, I was paid 5-figures to speak for the first time.
In 2025, I produced my first joyful leadership program.

It’s been a journey. I haven’t been consistent. I’ve been all over the place. But you’ve stuck around. You’ve believed in me. You’ve known my heart was in the right place. You’ve witnessed a broken Jacques become whole.

Your cheerleading has had an impact on me. It’s reminded me of my worth. It’s reminded me to continue forward—through any adversity. It’s reminded me how strong I truly am.

From anonymous Instagram accounts to my closest friends, my cheerleaders have sent me incredible reminders over the years. I hope reading these messages will fire up your appreciation engines.

You realize you’re probably the best in the world at this, right?

My greatest supporter has been my (unofficial) father, Gary. During COVID, he encouraged me to call myself The Party Scientist. Gary is also the reason why I’m on this path. When I attended TheDDP.com, I had the best night of my life.

You’re the next Tony Robbins and I’m going to be your personal medic.

My best friend Kevin always says this to me over and over again. He and I met when we were medics at Pemberton Music Festival, and since then, we’ve developed an unbreakable bond.

Because the truth is, that night I was on my way home to take my own life. The two guys I met that night were Jacques & Tyson, and the dance group I was introduced to was called party4health. Although these two guys didn't realize it that night, but their supportive caring words gave me enough strength to continue on.

Almost a year has gone by with my involvement with party4health, & I'VE never looked back. These people have taught me how to luv myself for who i am, regardless what others might think, & how to accept others for who they are, & how to learn from each others differences in a very positive way.

This was someone I met on the street during one of my street dance parties. He later joined our flash mobs whenever they were happening. He sent me this letter almost two years after the event described above. It still makes me cry when I read the full thing.
