Gratefulness is one of the most important traits for living happily. I love bringing it into my relationships and events.
I’ll give you some techniques. But don’t overcomplicate it. Cultivating a gratitude neural circuit is really simple. Choose to notice and appreciate what you have in your moment, instead of lusting for what you don’t. It’s a choice that I make in as many moments as possible.
Relationships.
When I am connecting one-on-one, I like to practice appreciative listening. When people finish talking, I share what I liked about what they said. Or I offer a compliment. Or I thank them. Simple.
When I am connecting with a difficult person, I use this cognitive reframing tactic. I regard them as my spiritual coach and thank them. They are teaching me to be more peaceful, open-hearted, and forgiving!
