Being judgmental is a virtue. Here’s why.

Tolerance.

Judgment.

Perception.

Assumption.

Let’s start with some definitions, so we’re on the same page.

Tolerance: When we accept something we don’t like.

Judgment: When we label something as aligned or misaligned with our values.

Perception: When we notice a behavior objectively.

Assumption: When we judge a book by its cover, based on limited information.

Often, judgment is mixed up with assumption. This is why judgmental people are considered bad. This is why I get triggered when people call me judgmental. They mean it in a negative way… But it’s actually a positive trait. Let me explain.
