The choice is yours.
Whether something in your life is a crutch is for you to decide. You simply have to ask yourself the question: “Am I doing this because of a deficit in some skill?”
A level of honesty with yourself is necessary here.
Here are some common examples of crutches.
You can watch TV or you can learn to be happy with boredom.
You can drink alcohol or you can learn to find joy and energy from within.
You can post photos of yourself on social media or you can develop the ability to validate yourself.
You can eat sugar and treats or you can learn how to get that feeling from elsewhere.
You can drink caffeine or you can learn to cultivate more physical energy and alertness.
You can be addicted to romantic relationships or you can learn how to be happy single.
